CR's comments: Jaslyn recovered from a broken arm in 2007 just to be in time for her first national level competition in 2008. Unlike most who are traumatized by their past, Jaslyn is a strong individual who chose to look forward to the future. A versatile flyer who is committed to the team and towards perpetual self improvement.

And how many people's lives can you touch with your passion?

Below is an abstract from something i wrote sometime back as to why it is important for all of us to keep improving:
''...If you chose to ignore how much people have improved, and how much the market has changed.. you will be left behind. And when you do, your institutions, your bosses will have a hard time justifying your existence. You will soon find that you cannot find the ''quality'' new blood because those who are really good will be looking at elsewhere to expand their talents. Your current team will be stagnant, losing all potential to grow because you as the leader together with your team are not improving. Eventually, people whose desire to improve will exceed you and your comfort zone. They will leave you, either for other teams or for other commitments. And this story will continue to repeat itself until your team ceases to exist...''
In this sport of ours, you can only keep improving. The moment you choose to stay status quo, or think it is ok to slide backwards, the game is over.
And by means of improving means everybody has to advance together. One toss cupie cannot win the competition. One double twist dismount doesn't make an impact.
Time to walk the talk.

Working towards Nationals 2010
University of Alabamba
CR's note: Think Ala-Bamba as '' Ulu-Pandan'' =)
2009 UCA Champions - University of Kentucky
CR's note: Kentucky's winning formula is very simple. Overpower everything in every aspect. Everybody can do a single lib so they made theirs more outstanding by doing a high-to-high heel stretch tick tock for example. Their Kentucky run is also very synchronised.
On a side note, do remember that our AGM is 29 Aug, Sat after training. Bring with you ideas you have for our annual training camp, as well as any constructive inputs you may have to improve the team as a whole.
Cya!

Cheerleading and driving have many similarities.
There are times when you get injured when it is not even your fault.
There are times when you have to compensate for the stunt and end up paying for somebody else's mistake.
There are times when committed individuals must work extra hard to make up for the shortfall in another's ability.
There are times when you say sorry, but the damage has already been done.
Never take things for granted. Because this is the one mistake you might end up paying for unknowingly.

Hello fellow Wildcards
This is my first assignment given by Chaang; to give him a good entry on our blog. Hahahax!!
It has been about 4months since I first joined Wildcards. All that I got from these 4 months was exactly the same impression I have about Wildcards. Tough trainings, scolding and ya, vulgarities. XD
Thou expected scolding from Chaang, still, initially not really used to it. Then, everything was much better after one or two months. LESS SCOLDING!! HAHAHAHAx !!
Personally for myself, I believed that I’ve learned and improved a lot. Starting from a not-so-good toss-to-hands to liberty, to QP and now working on other advance techniques. Of course, I still remember that I still owe Chaang one big standing back tuck. But I was really glad and never regret that I’ve decided to join Wildcards. Oh wells, I’ve achieved more or less the things I wanted to do BACK THEN but there’s still a LONG LONG WAY to go in the future.
My dream is to take the Cheerobics Year 2010 Champion Title back home. I emphasize that this is MY DREAM !! Just in case people start quoting me saying "WAH, WILDCARDS want to take the champion title sia"
Basically, i think this is every cheerleader's dream every year. HAHAHAHAHAHAx !! oh wells, whatever.
JIAYOU WILDCARDS. Discipline is what we need and I strongly believe that we are just wanting the best out of ourselves :)
PS: There are a lot of things I want to say, but, not sure if it’s ok or not. SO, I guess I shall stop here.
Congrats Richard officially a Wildcards now
Welcome to Wildcards
;)
