Rachel's First Blog Post (:

Hi Everyone,

My name is Rachel Lim Zhen, please call me Rachel and not call me Lim Zhen. Thanks arh! Been training in WCT for one month. So this should be my first anniversary in WCT?! :D Okay, so how should i start this post with? Why not I talk about the impression that WCT gave me all along before I actually thought of joining it?

I couldn't recall when I got to know WCT but I definitely can remember clearly that WCT gave me a very bad impression ever since I got to know it. Have you ever watched 古装戏 (especially those HK ones)? They always have those good and bad sects, 儿眉山 (Er-Mei-Shan) and 少林寺 (Shao-Lin-Shi) are those good ones and 明教 (Ming-Jiao) is the bad sect. I always regard WCT as 明教 due to the training method they adopt. You can get really traumatize even if you only hear the way they train and plus their $%^(&^%&^ language, you can really go mad. The rumours I heard for WCT's training method was insanely crazy. Shouting and screaming at the flyers, $%^&* at the flyers, shoes flying around and etc etc! To me, it is some hell training that you will never ever want to experience and that was exactly why I told myself to never join WCT and land myself in that crazy situation.

After graduating from GUSTO, I thought of joining outside team as I still have the passion for cheerleading and I didn't want to stop cheer just like that. I did consider joining WCT at that moment however thinking about their training method really scares my intention off. In the end, I decided to focus on helping Gusto and forget about joining other teams since Gusto is where I belong and started out from. Without Gusto, I wouldn't become who I am today.

What made me change my mind?

OCHI HIROYUKI! hahahaha :D Ochi, shock to see your name here? Alright, so i got to know Ochi at some Youth Olympic Performance and after that he kept on asking me to consider joining WCT since I still have the passion for cheer. He offers to HELP GUSTO in return if I agree to join WCT and compete for WCT next season. Am i right, Ochi Hiroyuki?!?!

After which I got SCAMMED by him and went for my first training at WCT. That was also my first time flying as a top-flyer. It was really a different experience flying as a top and at that point of time I can understand how stressful it is to be a top. After my first training at WCT, I realised that I couldn't find any shoes flying around (perhaps never show only! hahaha :D!), training was efficient and they trained every single parts of cheerleading, be it B-Toss, Partner Stunt, Pyramids, Group Stunts or even Gymnastics. Rumors weren't exactly true and WCT wasn't that scary afterall, so my worries back then were redundant.

BIYI was part of the reason why I decided to join WCT. I always wanted a female coach as I feel that female coaches are better in a way that they understands you and it is easier for them to correct you when both of you are flyers. Before I get to know Biyi, I thought she is a fierce and stern coach who is very difficult to communicate with as her face give out that fierce aura especially when she doesn't smile. However after knowing her, she is really very nice, patient and gentle when it comes to explanation of stunts.

The other reason why I joined WCT was to improve myself. Chaang knows that Gusto meant alot to me and I really want to help them improve however at that moment, there was very minimal I can do to help. Therefore, he offers me WCT where I can improve my skills and techniques and at the same time help Gusto by passing down the techniques and skills I have learn from WCT. So in the end, I joined WCT lah. If not I wouldn't be writing this post right? HAHA!

Last but not least, I want to thank WCT for giving me this opportunity to train with them and the guidance and patience WCT gave me. I really appreciate the effort and time the coaches spent on me, training me up especially when i have 0 experience for being a top flyer. I will do my utmost to become a strong top flyer and not disappoint you guys. Thank you (:
