Compared to Gary and Winston's posts, I'm actually going the opposite way, for i was really very skinny in the past. I know needed to get heavier in order to do my Dragonboat. And i was 17 by then
Before:
Weight- 56.4kg
The diet
I wasn't really exposed to diet plans when i was younger hence all i hear is people asking me to eat more chicken breast and more chicken breast.
So my everyday diet was actually 3 meals of Chicken Breast w Chicken Rice and in order to make sure i overclocked my calories, i added another meal which make it 4.
After:
Weight - 62.7kg
Which i was 19, and i just joined Genesis Cheerleading.
Pros
-Damn good for cardio
Cons
-Can't hold a 3 man stunt liberty stability (Lack of alot of muscles)
-Can't even do a toss to hands comfortably (Legs muscles were undeveloped)
-Shoulder stand was very wobbly (Lack of the mass in my body to have a heavier cg for me to stay on the group)
When i was 20, i joined wildcards, still with this weight and Wildcards bases like
Ken, Chaang, Jen, Isaac, Ochi keep encouraging me to put on weight and they never merely say, they gave me guidelines and what are the things i can eat to help me put on healthy weight.
The Diet
-2 shakes of Protein (After Gym, Before Sleeping)
-Increased number of meals a day (3 increased to 5)
-Increased intake of Carbohydrates, Protein
-Avoid Oily Food, Deep fried or Junk food
-Food like Rice, Chicken Breast
The Lifestyle
-Sleep early, Wake up Early
-Gym 3-4 times a week
-I don't know whether is this true or not, apparently Ken says the heavier that your lower body can hold which means (Legs, Core) (Squats and Deadlifts) will allow your upper body to grow as much as your lower body can hold to prevent injuries.
-Hence i focused alot on Squats and it does help in my weight increment.
After:
Weight - 70.1Kg
How it Helped -
-Because of the constant gymming, my muscles have thickened and grown abit bigger and that alone can enable me to take more weight as a main base or even as a shoulder stunt.
-Gymming alone has also built up my core and thus i'm able to control my stunts more easily compared to the past.
-I feel that as a bigger base, your flyers will also feel more secure when stunting with you.
-I could also fight for my stunts with all the change in my mass and strength.
-MOST IMPORTANTLY, With a bigger mass, it's easier for a base to hold your ground and not dancing around the mats when doing a stunt!
