B/M are some things that I forgot to mention during debrief.
Basically, a word of advice for the bases that are trying the new tossing technique, 'Don't give up'. I used to use the conventional way of tossing (using momentum with the double jump), after which I was taught the new tossing technique, which happened to be VERY effective I would say.
Conventional tossing (Momentum)
1) Lengthen your stunt sequence
2) Visually unappealing
3) Breaks the momentum/flow of the sequence as it requires double jump, thus making it hard for you to connect your stunts. Meaning to say after every pop down, there will be an awkward pause for you to gain 'momentum' before executing the next stunt.
New tossing (Speed + burst)
1) Shorten your stunt sequence
2) Visually VERY appealing
3) Able to connect all the stunts together, without breaking the momentum/flow of the sequence
I understand that the transition period is VERY VERY tough (I empathize with you guys as I went through it before), but trust me you guys will definitely benefit from this switch.
Just in case you guys cannot remember everything, just remember this 4 letter words CPFS.
Communication - Its a stunt involving both parties, thus communicate with each other, work on it together (Just remember to not over do it)
Posture - Extremely important, good posture ---> proper execution ---> greater toss ---> maximal effort
Feelings - Hmmm. Basically, it means execute the stunt with feelings and not execute brute strength. One has to feel the stunt.
Speed (Applicable for both bases and flyer)
- Yes. SPEED!!!! SPEED OVER STRENGTH! Really. Common misconception of tossing, is to 'CHARGE, CHARGE, CHARGE' which is totally WRONG WRONG WRONG!
Its about how fast you're able to toss your partner up in the air using her jump (Bursting and not Charging Jump).
A/M is just my 2 cents. Hope that it helps.
Alright. See you guys in January!
Till then!
