Moving forward to 2010 !
On behalf of Ulu Pandan Wildcards , I would like to thank all our faithful supporters for contributing to the success of this cheerleading team. We have clocked almost 50,000 views within 16months of this blog's inception and currently have more than 20 active members from 9 different academic institutions (excluding those who are working).
I would also like to give kudos to all Wildcards who have been training non-stop ever since this team started. We had no exam break, no post competition break whatsoever. With only twice a week to train, we have broken barriars that even we did not expect and surpassed expectations beyond our wildest imaginations. I am proud of everyone of you who have survived our tough trainings, strict expectations and most importantly sacrificing your time to make this team possible.
I would like to end 2009 by sharing Wildcard's most popular flyer in action. We wish all teams a fruitful 2010 and to start season 2010/2011 with an ASU for the upcoming Cheerobics. Cheers!
Ok i wasn't really serious about the video. But here's my all time favourite video courtesy of Sohfia. =PppPppP

Health Supplements
.
Hi all! As Cheerobics 2010 approaches, it is important to take care of your body adequately to prepare for the upcoming competition. However, eating supplements alone does not make you god-like. Drinking sufficient fluids (beer is not counted -.-), having enough sleep and making every training productive are also very important.
.
I have included some of my previous posts for your reference.

Anthony Robbins - Inner Strength
To all readers, this is one video that i strongly recommend you finish watching in one sitting. (especially to members of the sad story corner). Enjoy!
Who is Anthony Robbins? ---> here
Notes I took from the video:
1) People learn best when they don't know that they are learning. (you are learning subconsciously when you are teaching a junior how to do a proper elevator pop, basket toss.. etc)
2) Language is a defence mechanism that makes us stay in our box. humans are very audio creatures. the language used will make you react differently. (Anthony swears as much as I do!)
3) The strongest force in the human personality is the need to remain consistant on how we define ourselves. Identity is the key. Everyone has their point that will push them over the edge.
4) Destroy your comfort zone to force yourself to find another route. Create a compelling future.
5) Instant gratification (seeking side benefits) might come with side effects, and is not a long term solution to an immediate problem.
6) Video discussed dispair (chaang's definition of ''sad story'')
7) You don't need to show yourself how significant the problem is to beat yourself up. You need to learn to take care of yourself so that the resource of you can serve all the people you love. Then you'll start loving yourself again.
8) A crisis is always a sign that there is potential for growth. The life solutions that might have served you in the past might now work for you now. living in the past = no future. If there is no future, everyone that's in your present is going to be punished.
You can apply these values to cheerleading/work/personal life as well. Remember, if you are to master anything, you must first master your own emotions first.

Hello people! Our training schedule is finally up!
Do note the training timings:
Hello people! Our training schedule is finally up!
Do note the training timings:
Tuesdays : 6pm-930pm
Saturdays : 1pm-6pm
Sundays: 9am-1pm (commence on 7Feb)
And please note that there will be no trainings on 14feb & 16feb (they're marked in green) as it
will be CNY! We will have training on 17 Feb (wed) for that particular week instead.
Cheerobics will be in March!
So in the mean time, block out March for trainings in case Cheerobics is held end-March.
Start planning your schedule now and avoid schedule clashes with trainings :)
Do inform the coaches early (at least 2 weeks in advance) if you can't turn up for any
trainings
STAY STRONG EVERYONE!!

Introducing all the HotBods on stage!!!

Baybee, you are hot... my cup of ice lemon tea.

And ZhiLiang and Vincent came in First and Second runner-up each!!!! (see la, if CR was there he would have clinched the First prize rite... keke!)
11 Dec 2009 was the "Six-Pack HotBods Competiton" by Singapore Tourism Board!

Omg, were you there???????!!!!!!!!!!
Just look at all these humbly dressed HotBods. You have no idea whats swimming underneath their tiny newurbanmale baby-Tees. Slurpz~

Introducing all the HotBods on stage!!!

With them, we have our very own ZhiLiang and Vincent from Wildcards! *cheers*
Its easy to spot six-packs hunks in Wildcards isn't it?! Haha, and that's the reason i had to nominate them! (CR too modest to join them that day >< )
The climax of the night!!! Tops off!!!

Meeting expectations
Regardless of which squad you're in, one thing in cheerleading that will never change is meeting expectations.
Expectations can come in many forms, and can be mainly divided into two categories: namely expectations set by yourself, and expectations set by others.
What is important for all of us to realise is, there will always be opportunity costs to meet those expectations. In this video, we learnt from our foreign counterparts that their opportunity cost for meeting expectations is pressure from their peers, strain on their bodies, and on the amount of time spent on the sport.
In Wildcards, the opportunity cost as an open team is that while we are progressing in stunt level, we are not able to increase training frequency due to our wide commitment varience. This is one of the main reasons why most of you feel mentally tired despite having less trainings compared to season 2008/2009. It is only natural that lacking practice in the light of more difficult stunts will make you feel insecure.
Competitions are all about luck. The *harder you train, the luckier you get. (notice i used the word ''harder'' rather than ''more'')
As mentioned, training 5 times a week is not an option for us since not everybody can make it. Yet training twice a week but coming up with a sub-standard routine is definitely not within our own/management's expectations.
Hence, the only way around this problem to have productive trainings.
Productive = focus + effort + no more sad stories!
We have the winning routine. It's now up to you guys to hit it!

Merry early X'mas with Wildcards!
Senior Flyer Yifang completed our first station at Plaza Sing!
But before we could carry on, we had to make sure Jaslyn wasn't eating out of our sight again. It's tough to be a Wildcard. You can never gym faster than Jaslyn can eat -.-Next up..
Plaza Sing ---> Orchard Central!

And then..
Orchard Central --> Takashimaya!

Final Stop.. Takashimaya --> ION!

GARY has just volunteered his place for Xmas party! More details next training!
Wildcards would like to wish all our readers a merry early Xmas, and for all teams to hit ASU next year!
