Pertaining to what Eric mentioned during debrief yesterday, it is time for yet another ''reality check''.
According to him, a lot of us have been doing the same stunts over and over again. You need to ''take some risks'' and ''push yourself harder''. In order to do that, you need to ''get out of your comfort zone''. (yes i have been saying that since day one just that coming from Eric sounds more encouraging. zzzzz) You also need to be more proactive in pushing yourself out of your comfort zone by knowing what stunts you can progress from what you already can do.
Jayson's first solid cupie on 03/07/10 with Jasmine
I need to give kudos to Jayson for living up to being a true Wildcard. Unlike most of us, Jayson came to us with totally no experience in cheerleading & gymnastics. In order to catch up with the team, Jayson proactively goes for every single one of our DIY sessions. He also takes his team members advice seriously and hits the gym. Jayson joined Wildcards in Sept09. Despite being in NS now, he is still constantly improving.
Constantly improving means being able to do stunts you can already do with greater proficiency AND learning new stuff AT THE SAME TIME.
We all know we are lacking in the gymnastics area. I have already found you all a good gym coach, but there is only so much I can do. The rest is up to you.
Time to take the next step people!

Isaac and Joline came to us with little experience in 2008. Back then, Joline could hardly manage a toss hands. Isaac had a history of a broken right elbow and had no gymnastics background. To be very honest, I really did not expect isaac with his elbow condition to go this far! Today we are seeing joline hitting full up cupies and Isaac being proficient in both left and right cupies + gymnastics.
Isaac is now the OIC for team gymnastics and is still trying to bring up the entire team's level. But he cannot do this alone. You need to help him, to help yourselves!

Huishan is the only existing Wildcard flyer who came to us with zero cheerleading/gymnastics background. Her flexibility was also horrible then. Since she joined us in 2008, huishan is already doing cupie pop overs, bow & arrows and double full dismounts. She is still looking to complete her layout to be an all rounded flyer.
Ochi came to us in 2009 with no sense of momentum (ok he is slightly better now) and couldn't even hit toss hands for nuts. Today, Ochi holds the post of Vice-Captain and DIY OIC in Wildcards. His DIY programs have benefited the stunting proficiency of the team as a whole, and is probably the one responsible for making outdoor stunting popular in Singapore. Ochi is aware that while he can comfortably hit pop overs now, he still needs to work on his baskets and gymnastics.
We do not train with special charms or secret techniques to achieve what we want to do. The extra ingredient voices down to how badly you want to achieve and to what extend you are willing to make this happen.
