“What every champion has in common is the certainty that they will reach their goal, even if there is no evidence to support it. Winners carry themselves like winners, on the court and in everyday life.” Make it or Break it, Season 1 Ep13
If we are to consider our craft as competitive sport, winning is your goal and mantra, unless it is for recreation.
I'm blessed to have the members of Wildcards who are driven as an individual and with the years we progress, I see the strong sense of camaraderie as the Team. A team is but a team, but how about the cheer community?
Cheerleading is a demanding and multilevel sport. Being amazing in what you do is just the beginning. Perfecting your craft to perfection is the demands of an athlete. When we combine the perfection with the right attitude and mentality, that is the makings of a pro-athlete role model.
Are we heading in that direction? We can think like a winner, act like a winner, but are we fulfilling our duties as a winner? If we want Singapore to take us seriously, we (the cheer community) has to collectively be strong and gracious like an international-standard athlete.
I'm excited to announce that there are more inter-team exchanges, and through that, we can bring the best out of each team and someday, synergise it to form the "Singapore Spirit". How long do we take to get there, and good we really want to be, really depends on you.
