Hi Chaanglets!
It has been awhile since I lasted blogged. Just want to tell you guys that we can definitely win this year. Without a doubt. I never had a routine which I can be so proud in executing. This is the final lap for all of us and the end is drawing near.
I still remembered when Wildcards first started, our main goals were not to join Nationals and just to cheer for fun. However, as the ambitious joined, our focus changed and we started to aim to be the best. In Cheerobics 2009, all of us walked off the mats with regret and heavy hearts. We had a winning routine but we failed to execute it. Hell for 1 year. Regret, misery and desolation. For 1 year, all of us felt that way and we wanted to come back and prove something to our coaches, to our opponents, to the world, to ourselves that we are much better than this. I told myself that I would never want to feel like this ever again.
1st SNCC 2010, we won. Tough fight but we won. It may be a draw but in our hearts, we know we won. That was the year I truly felt like a champion. I saw the tears rolling out of our girls eyes, the sweat trickling down everyone’s forehead, remembered all the blood that were shed while doing stunts and I saw Chaang, Vincent, and Zhi Liang’s expression.
It is indeed true. Winning is easy, very easy. All you need is a lot of tears, a lot of sweat, a lot of blood and a very good coach. In this case, we have 3 coaches. We are the champions.
Today is the 3rd of March. 17 days more to the day that we have been training for for the pass 6 months. All of us here have different values to why you are in the team, your final year, for your friends, to prove a point to the doubtful, to become better as a cheerleader; it all comes down to one thing; to win. To win EVERYONE out there, including YOURSELVES. Jomo told us this when Kentucky visited us “Practice does not make prefect. Prefect practice makes prefect.” We cannot afford to slacken at any part of practice from now on. 17 more days of hell compared to 1 year of satisfaction is worth it in my opinion. Remember, if you are a Card, you are the best. Cheer like you are one.
P.S. I told my Hall cheerleader before, it doesn’t matter what happens from now on, all that matters is how you show up at the showdown. Show up well guys. National Champions 2011!
