Some breakthroughs caught on video during our recent UK workshop!
Jasmine's inversion 221 - Jasmine was rarely trained as a top flyer in Wildcards but she grabbed the opportunity when it was presented to her.
Nellie's layout full - As a non-gymanst and standing at 1.68m, this is honestly a stunt I thought was out of limits to her. But Nellie believed and fought for what she believed in. Very proud of you!
Gary and Olivia - hands to hands inversion pop to liberty
Gary has come a very long way since he joined Wildcards in 2008. 3 Years ago Gary could barely manage a decent toss extension. He is probably the first base in Singapore to ever complete this single base stunt!
A cheerleading workshop is meant for you to improve your current level. You need not necessarily master the stunt during the workshop, but to allow your mind to absorb the correct information and your body to register the stunt feeling. Stunting with the workshop instructors also will allow you to rectify any problems you may have. A workshop does not make you a fantastic cheerleader overnight. It is also important to continue training (in the right direction) so that your efforts can pay off eventually!
Aside from the professional advice from the instructors, I always believe that it is important to mingle and mix around with the local cheerleading community. It is during these interactions that you exchange pointers, and make new friends! I never believed in any 'secret techinque' in this Sport. Afterall, everything can be found on youtube!
Stay tuned for our official entry to thank all those who have made this workshop successful!
