We just completed the first exchange of the season and it is with none other than.... SP GUSTO!!!!!
Last Saturday, Wildcards members and alumni steadily streamed into the SP Sports Arena in the afternoon for the highly-anticipated exchange with SP Gusto. Both teams took turns leading warm-ups, partner stunts, pyramids and baskets segments.
But before we move on to some stunt pictures, first things first~ It's a new season and there are so many new faces, of course we have to start with introductions!!
After introductions, we move straight to warm-ups and stretching. Actually, I don't think anyone remembers everyone's names even after the introduction hahaha! But it is okay!! Because we have 6 more hours to get to know each other!! Ok stretching time~

Before we start to stunt, we will need instructions and demonstrations, right? RIGHT!!! So we have alumni from Gusto leading partner stunts and our coach Hakim leading baskets and pyramids~
We started off with partner stunts and we're going back to basics. We were given a detailed explanation and demonstration on how to toss hands. Both Gusto and Wildcards members took turns to stunt with each other and we started to learn each other's names hahahaha!
During the pyramids segment, we were split into 2 groups. Newer cheerleaders practiced how to do shoulder stands and pitch, while more advanced cheerleaders practiced straight glads and even full glads!

For partner stunts, we warmed up with basic stunts before proceeding on to the other elite stunts. It's like stuntfest all over again!! HAHA!

What's amazing is that Gusto has A LOT of female bases!! And I'm not even kidding when I say that they are really really strong. They're able to toss hands, push to extension, hold a lib, shoulder stand and pitch just like any other base would! Waaaa *starry eyed*

Baskets segment was fun and efficient. Flyers clocked straights and bases practiced how to throw good baskets. Unfortunately, yours truly was busy taking videos for everyone and didn't have time to snap great photos on the rest of the segments. But I'm sure even without photos, both team will remember how fun (or is it not?) the segments were!!
Ending off our exchange with Gusto on a great note with the T-Shirts Exchange!! P.S. The next day of the exchange was actually GUSTO's captain, Donovan's birthday!

This is actually the first exchange of my life and i wasn't prepared for how friendly and accommodating everyone was! It's kind of amazing that everyone can bond and make friends easily within the few hours spent together on the mats. Thanks for taking my exchange virginity Gusto >-< HAHHAHA!! Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end, and so does our exchange ☹ Thank you SP Gusto for hosting us, we had a great time interacting with both the older and newer members of the team. We hope that there will be more opportunities for our teams to grow closer and have more stunting sessions in the future. All the best for the rest of the season!! We look forward to many more exchanges in the years to come! ♡♡♡
